News item is a type of writing that provides up-to-date information about events that are important to report. News items aim to provide information to readers or listeners. 

ꔫ Structure news item text:

News Item text structure consists of three parts.

1. Main event/newsworthy event (core event) 

2. background event/elaboration (background events), and 

3. Source (source). 

ꔫ News item text features:

1. Brief information contained in the headline. Focus on an incident. 

2. Dominant uses saying verbs, such as reported, quoted, said, preached, and so on. 

3. Generally use action verbs, which are verbs that show activity.

Conclusion: 

Text news items are texts that provide information about daily events/events. These daily events are considered worthy of news or arguably important. That is, if an important event that must be known by many people, then this event deserves to be made news.
